Our work on the Cairnwood Mansion, the Beaux Arts style residence designed by Carrere & Hastings in 1892 for the industrialist and founder of Pittsburg Plate Glass, John Pitcairn, was nominated for a Gold Circle Award for “Outstanding Workmanship – Steep Slope” by the National Roofing Contractors Association. The slate roofing is highlighted by the use of custom formed copper capping at the hips and ridges, creating a striking and unusual detail.
