National Slate Association Receives Gold Circle Award at the 2011 International Roofing Exposition for publication of Slate Roofs: Design and Installation Manual and for eight years of service to the slate roofing industry
The National Slate Association (NSA) has been awarded a Gold Circle Award by the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) for Service to the Roofing Industry.

The Award, presented at this year’s International Roofing Exposition (IRE) in Las Vegas, not only recognizes NSA’s 5 year project to create and publish a new technical guide entitled Slate Roofs: Design and Installation Manual, which will be available in late March 2011, but was also presented to acknowledge NSA’s efforts over the past eight years at promoting excellence in slate roofing. This includes NSA’s work to correct inconsistencies in ASTM C406’ Standard Specification for Roofing Slate, conduct hail and fire testing for slate roof installations, and develop content for its website as a resource for the industry.
